Grand Raid Ventoux 2027 aid stations and crew points

Four races out of Malaucène, three of them over the bare summit of Mont Ventoux, the Giant of Provence.

April 23 to 25, 2027 Malaucène, Vaucluse, France

The Grand Raid Ventoux runs from Malaucène, a small town at the northwest foot of Mont Ventoux in the Vaucluse. It joined the UTMB World Series in 2025, and in 2026 it had 4,257 starters across four races. The 2027 edition is April 23 to 25. Firefighters from the Vaucluse fire service organize it with help from volunteers, and €2 from every bib goes to a charity for firefighters' orphans.

Every course starts and finishes in Malaucène. The 125 km, 87 km and 51 km cross the summit of Mont Ventoux, at 1,910 m, and come down through its limestone rock fields. The 125 km also loops west through the Dentelles de Montmirail to Gigondas. The 26 km stays on the lower slopes.

The courses cross private land, so the organizer puts out the GPX only a few days before the race, and until then each race page shows the route. The maps here draw the 2026 courses, the latest on the race pages, with their aid stations. On the trail, look for the reflective markers: there's no paint, and the rules tell you to turn back if you can't see one.

This is an unofficial guide: Goat Maps isn't affiliated with Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB. Check the official site before you enter or race.

You start at one minute to midnight on Friday and climb out of Malaucène past Le Groseau and Saint-Sidoine chapel to Pic du Comte and the Crête de la Plate. Then you drop into the Toulourenc gorges from Entrechaux to Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux and take the long climb by Mont Serein to the summit. Off the top, the course comes down to Lac du Paty and Le Barroux, threads the northern Dentelles de Montmirail to Gigondas, and finishes over the Saint-Amand ridges.

The longest stretches without food are 19.4 km from Bout du Monde to Entrechaux and 19.5 km from Veaux to Mont Serein, most of that uphill. Mont Serein has hot food and your drop bag, and the next food is Le Sueil, 15.6 km on and over the summit. Crews can meet you at Entrechaux, Mont Serein, Le Barroux and Gigondas. The race pages bill it as 125 km with 5,700 m of climbing; the 2026 course data measures 126.1 km, which is what the table uses. The race pages still carry 2026's cutoffs, so the table leaves them out; in 2026 you had to leave Mont Serein by 2:30 PM Saturday.

The 100K shares its first 47 km with the 100M: up over Pic du Comte and the Crête de la Plate, then down the Toulourenc gorges from Entrechaux to the hamlet of Veaux. From Veaux it's 9.9 km up to Mont Serein, where crews and drop bags wait, then the climb to the summit.

Mont Serein to Le Sueil is 15.6 km with nothing in between, over the top and down through the rock fields. After Le Sueil you pass Piaud chapel and cross the Col de la Chaîne, with a last look at the Dentelles, before the drop into Malaucène. The race pages bill it as 87 km with 4,200 m of climbing.

The 50K follows the first kilometers of the Ventoux road out of Malaucène, then turns off past Le Groseau to Sainte-Marguerite, where there's water. The climb continues along the Crête de la Plate to the Mont Serein ski station, the only point where crews can meet you, and on up the GR4 to the summit.

From Mont Serein it's 15.6 km over the top and down the rock fields to the food at Le Sueil. The finish runs past Piaud chapel and over the Col de la Chaîne. The race pages bill it as 51 km with 2,500 m of climbing, and it's the only race on Sunday.

The shortest course doesn't go to the summit. It follows the first kilometers of the Ventoux road, passes Le Groseau and Saint-Sidoine chapel, and climbs to a viewpoint above the Rochers des Rams, the high point at about 930 m.

The first food is Le Sueil at 11.3 km, then Plan de Laval after Piaud chapel and its Way of the Cross. The last climb is the Col de la Chaîne, looking across to the Dentelles de Montmirail, before you drop back into Malaucène. The race pages bill it as 26 km with 1,100 m of climbing.

Registration

Every 2027 race is sold out, and the organizer keeps no waiting list once a race fills. Bibs can't be transferred or deferred to another year.

For 2027 the 50K went to a free lottery for runners with a UTMB Index, held September 7 to 13, 2026, after the 2026 race sold out in record time on first come, first served. Part of the lottery was set aside for residents of the Vaucluse and the Drôme. The 100M, 100K and 20K opened on September 21 to UTMB Index holders and on September 23 to everyone. Fees were €240 to €270 for the 100M, €169 to €199 for the 100K, €95 for the 50K and €50 to €65 for the 20K, plus an 8% administration fee. You also need a PPS health code, or an FFA licence, to confirm your entry.

Field sizes are set with the Mont Ventoux regional nature park, to keep the number of runners within what the mountain can take.

Getting there

Malaucène is about 42 km by road from Avignon, roughly 40 minutes' drive. In 2026 the race village, bib pickup and starts were all at Les Palivettes, near the town's stadium.

Crewing

Each runner gets one crew member, who can meet you only in the zone from 500 m before to 500 m after an aid station that allows it, and can hand you a bag of up to 30 liters. On the 100M that's Entrechaux, Mont Serein, Le Barroux and Gigondas; on the 100K, Entrechaux and Mont Serein; on the 50K, Mont Serein only.

To keep cars off the mountain, crews get to Mont Serein on a shuttle from Malaucène with a day pass. In 2026 it ran Saturday from 5:45 AM to 8:45 PM for the 100M and 100K and Sunday from 7:15 AM to 1:15 PM for the 50K, and the passes sold out.

Weather and kit

The organizer warns that April around Ventoux can bring anything from over 30 °C to -10 °C, with rain, hail or snow, and it can add a hot weather or cold weather kit to the mandatory gear before bib pickup. In Carpentras, southwest of the mountain, the average April high is 20.4 °C and the low 6.9 °C. At the Mont Serein weather station, 1,445 m up, it's 8.2 °C and 1.7 °C. The wind blows over the mountain at 90 km/h on about 240 days a year. The 2026 race ran in early-season heat.

Carry your mandatory kit the whole way. On the 100M and 100K, missing water, a hooded waterproof jacket, a headlamp, a survival blanket or a phone gets you disqualified, and a phone that's off or in airplane mode costs 15 minutes. Poles are allowed only if you start with them, and they can't go in your drop bag.

Grand Raid Ventoux FAQ

When is the Grand Raid Ventoux 2027?

April 23 to 25, 2027. The 100M starts at 11:59 PM on Friday, the 100K at 6:30 AM and the 20K at 8:30 AM on Saturday, and the 50K at 6:30 AM on Sunday, all from Malaucène.

Can I still get into the Grand Raid Ventoux 2027?

No. All four races are sold out and there's no waiting list. The 50K was a lottery, held in September 2026; the other three were first come, first served.

What are the time limits?

29 h 30 min for the 100M, 19 h 40 min for the 100K, 11 h 50 min for the 50K and 4 h 50 min for the 20K. The race pages' aid station cutoffs are still 2026's, when the 100K, 50K and 20K had 10 to 20 minutes more, so this page leaves them out until 2027's are published.

Can you have a pacer at the Grand Raid Ventoux?

No. The rules forbid anyone not in the race from running with you, except in the marked zones near aid stations, and on the 100M and 100K breaking the rule costs 15 minutes.

How many Running Stones is the Grand Raid Ventoux worth?

4 for the 100M, 3 for the 100K, 2 for the 50K and 1 for the 20K. Finishing also counts toward your UTMB Index in that category.

Can I download the Grand Raid Ventoux GPX?

Not yet. Because the courses cross private land, the organizer releases the GPX only a few days before the race, and the race pages show the routes in the meantime. This page draws the 2026 courses with their aid stations, and you can save them in Goat Maps for offline use.
