The 2026 route was 106.1 miles with 6,506 feet of climbing, and the miles here are that year's. It runs through the Cross Timbers, where post oak and blackjack oak cling to sandstone ledges along sunken roadbeds. Mulhall, at mile 28, has water and Skratch. From there it's 33 miles and about 1,900 feet of climbing to downtown Guthrie at mile 61, the only place your crew can hand you anything. You cross the Cimarron River on Pleasant Valley Road on the way.
From Guthrie the organizer counts another 33 miles to the last aid station, at the entrance to the Bovine Bypass, a stretch of rough double track on private land. On the way you cross the Cimarron again at mile 82, on a new highway bridge that was still closed to traffic in 2026. You have to dismount there, because of a 2 foot ridge onto the bridge deck. Watch the two railroad crossings at miles 28.2 and 38.4: they have no arms. Highway 77 at mile 39.7 and Highway 33 at mile 84.2 don't stop for you either.
