Mallorca by UTMB course maps and aid stations

Four UTMB World Series races and a 7 km charity run on Mallorca's mountain range, all finishing on the harbor at Port de Sóller.

October 30 to November 1, 2026 Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca

Mallorca by UTMB crosses the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range along the island's northwest coast. The 2026 edition, its third, runs October 30 to November 1. The SDT and CPS start at the cove below Estellencs and work northeast through the mountain villages, the ETM starts inland at Selva, and the CDA starts in Valldemossa. All of them end at Port de Sóller.

Most of the route crosses private land that's only open on race day, so check the access rules before you train on it. The map here uses the organizer's course data and GPX files, which are still the 2025 ones; the 2026 aid station guide lists the same stations.

The regulations warn of places where only emergency calls get through. Download the map before you go, whether you're racing or following someone. GPS shows where you are without a signal.

This is an unofficial guide: Goat Maps isn't affiliated with Mallorca by UTMB. Check the official site before you enter or race.

The SDT starts at 10 PM on Friday at Cala d'Estellencs and follows the old Camí des Correu to Esporles. From there it strings together Valldemossa, Bunyola, Orient and Alaró, then turns north past Tossals Verds to the sanctuary at Lluc. After Lluc you climb about 800 m to Coll des Prat, at 1,204 m, then drop past the Cúber reservoir to Fornalutx, Sóller and the sea. Puig Major, the island's highest peak, is in view from the top.

Alaró and Lluc are the two life bases, with hot food, your drop bags and your one crew member. The regulations say the longest gaps can take slower runners three to four hours, so leave with enough water. Sóller, about 8 km from the end, has only drinks, fruit and sweets. Stops and cutoffs here come from the 2025 course data.

The CPS starts at 6 AM on Saturday at Cala d'Estellencs and shares the SDT's stops as far as Tossals Verds, through Esporles, Valldemossa, Bunyola, Orient and Alaró. Instead of going on to Lluc it cuts across to Cúber and comes down through the Barranc de Biniaraix, a gorge of cliffs and scree that's a protected cultural site, to Fornalutx and Port de Sóller.

Alaró, at km 60, is the only life base: hot food, your drop bag and the one place your crew can help. The km and cutoffs shown are 2025's.

The ETM starts at 8 AM on Saturday in the main square of Selva and climbs the old path through Caimari to the sanctuary at Lluc. It keeps climbing past Coll des Telègraf to Coll des Prat, then from Cúber follows a crest over Sa Rateta, Na Franquesa and Puig de l'Ofre. The descent to Biniaraix and Fornalutx is technical.

Coll d'en Poma and Sóller have only drinks, fruit and sweets, and there's no hot food on this course. No one can help you anywhere along it, crew included. The map's stops and cutoffs are from 2025.

The CDA starts at 9 AM on Sunday in Valldemossa and follows the GR-221 onto the Camí de s'Arxiduc, a path along the tops above the sea with views from Puig Gros and Puig Es Caragolí. It then drops to Deià and follows the coast to Port de Sóller. The organizer gives it as 26 km with 1,000 m up and 1,300 m down.

An 850 m stretch at Gingles de Son Rullan has to be walked, and running it costs a 20-minute penalty. If you train on the route, the private Son Gual estate at the start is closed outside race day: follow the GR 221 markers and you rejoin the course at about km 2. Of the four UTMB World Series races, the CDA is the only one you can enter without a UTMB Index.

The Memorial starts at 9 AM on Sunday at the Sa Creu lighthouse and follows the coast toward the Cap Gros lighthouse before turning back to the finish in the port. It remembers Guiem Coll Bestard, "Sec", co-founder of the 1 Km de Vida charity in Sóller. Entry fees, less 8% for administration, go to the Unoentrecienmil Foundation for childhood cancer research.

There's no finisher gift, shirt, medal or trophy, and it gives no Running Stones or UTMB Index. Runners must be over 16.

Registration

For 2026 the SDT, CPS, ETM and CDA were all full when this page was checked in mid-October. Entry was a straight purchase with no lottery, opening on January 14 for runners with a UTMB Index. The CDA opened to everyone two days later. Sales could run until October 20, and the organizer may keep a waiting list once a race sells out.

You need a UTMB Index for the three longer races: a 100K or 100M Index for the SDT, a 50K or longer one for the CPS, and any Index from 20K up for the ETM. The organizer advises an Index of at least 400 in the category, because the cutoffs are set for that level. Prices rose in steps as bibs sold, from 234 to 289 € for the SDT down to 60 to 74 € for the CDA, plus an 8% fee.

Bibs can't be transferred, and money comes back only through the cancellation insurance offered at registration. You also need accident insurance that covers mountain rescue.

Getting to the starts

Fly into Palma (PMI), or take the ferry from Barcelona, Valencia or Denia to Palma. Sóller is linked to Palma by road through a tunnel and by the old Ferrocarril de Sóller train, and a tram runs on to Port de Sóller, where the race village, bib pickup and every finish are.

You can't drive to the Estellencs start: there's no parking and private cars aren't allowed. Parking at Selva and Valldemossa is very limited. The organizer runs runner-only buses to each start from Palma, Port de Sóller, Sóller and Bunyola (and Esporles for the SDT and CPS), and back from the finish (through the night for the SDT and CPS). They had to be booked in your runner area by October 11.

Crewing and pacing

Crew help is limited to one person per runner, at Alaró and Lluc on the SDT and at Alaró only on the CPS. That person can hand you a bag of up to 30 liters and do small things like a massage or a blister while you sit; medical help from your crew is forbidden. On the ETM and CDA nobody may help you anywhere.

There are no pacers. Friends can run alongside only in the marked zones near aid stations, and being accompanied anywhere else costs a penalty. Crews can follow along on UTMB Live.

Weather and what to carry

At sea level in Palma, October averages highs around 24°C and lows around 17°C, with about 73 mm of rain over six or so wet days (AEMET's 1991 to 2020 normals). The Tramuntana is cooler with height and much wetter than the rest of the island. If it has rained in the days before, the environmental authorities can ban poles on the whole route. When poles are allowed they need rubber tips, and you carry spare tips.

On the SDT and CPS the mandatory kit includes two headlamps, 1.5 liters of water, a waterproof jacket and trousers, a warm second layer, gloves, a survival bag and a phone with the LiveTrail app. The ETM list is much the same with one headlamp and 1 liter. The CDA needs 1 liter, the waterproof jacket, a survival blanket, a whistle and the phone. Aid stations hand out no cups, so bring your own (15 cl at least), and a bowl and cutlery if you want the hot pasta or rice at the life bases.

Mallorca by UTMB FAQ

When is Mallorca by UTMB 2026?

October 30 to November 1, 2026. The SDT starts Friday at 10 PM, the CPS Saturday at 6 AM, the ETM Saturday at 8 AM, and the CDA and the Memorial Sunday at 9 AM.

Can I still enter Mallorca by UTMB 2026?

Not in the four main races: all of them were full in mid-October. Registration ran from January, and the organizer may keep a waiting list for a sold-out race. Bibs can't be transferred, so buying one from another runner isn't allowed.

Is Mallorca by UTMB a qualifier for UTMB?

The top three men and women in the SDT, and runners who qualify through their UTMB Score, get direct entry to the UTMB in Chamonix. The CPS can earn the best-placed runners direct entry to the CCC, and the ETM to the OCC, with the same UTMB Score route. Every finish also earns Running Stones for the Finals draw: 4, 3, 2 and 1 from the SDT down to the CDA.

Can you have a pacer at Mallorca by UTMB?

No. None of the four main races allows pacers, and running with someone outside the marked zones near aid stations is penalized.

Where can crews meet runners?

Only at Alaró and Lluc on the SDT, and only at Alaró on the CPS, with one person per runner. The ETM and CDA allow no help at all.

Is there phone signal on the Mallorca by UTMB course?

The regulations mention areas where only emergency calls work, and tell you to dial 112 if you can't reach race control. Your phone must stay on, out of airplane mode, with the LiveTrail app running for its SOS button. Download the course map before the race so it works offline.
