Kullamannen by UTMB course maps and aid stations

Four races on the coast of Skåne, from a 20K out of Båstad to a 100 miler that starts in Höganäs and finishes on the Centercourt in Båstad.

October 30 to November 1, 2026 Höganäs to Båstad, Skåne, Sweden

Kullamannen is a UTMB World Series race on the northwest coast of Skåne, in southern Sweden, named for the legend of the lord of Kullaberg. It runs on All Saints' weekend, when there's more darkness than daylight and gales come in off the sea.

The 100 miler and the Sprint Ultra 100K start at the church in Höganäs on Friday evening, run north to Kullaberg above Mölle, and head on by way of Ängelholm and the Bjäre peninsula to Båstad. The Seventh Seal 50K and the North Shore 20K start by the sea in Båstad on Saturday. Every race finishes at the Centercourt in Båstad.

Most of the course follows the Skåneleden trail, marked with orange signs and reflective tape, with red and white tape where it leaves the trail. Parts of the 100 mile course cross private land and protected areas you're not allowed into outside race day, so you can't recce them. The organizer also warns that phones near the coast can switch to Danish networks. Download the course map before you go: your phone's GPS shows where you are without a signal. The map uses the km from the 2026 runner guide; the guide says the final GPX files come out between 15 and 27 October.

This is an unofficial guide: Goat Maps isn't affiliated with Kullamannen by UTMB. Check the official site before you enter or race.

The organizer calls the 100 miler "Heaven, Sea & Hell" and lists it at 173 km and 2,300 m of climbing; its 2026 aid station chart puts the finish at 171.5 km. It starts at 18:00 on Friday with a flat 12 km run from Höganäs to Mölle, then a lap of about 20 km on the technical singletrack of Kullaberg before you pass Mölle again. From there you head east through Svanshall to Råbocka, outside Ängelholm, where there's hot soup at 65.8 km.

The longest gap is the 34.7 km from Stora Hult to the Båstad aid station, where your drop bag waits at 118.9 km. After that comes a last lap of the Bjäre peninsula through Glimminge and Hovs Hallar before the finish. The course crosses 15 nature reserves. The organizer puts the DNF rate at 40 to 60 percent.

The Sprint Ultra starts at 22:00 on Friday, four hours after the 100 miler, with a flat 11 km warm-up from Höganäs to Kullaberg. Small singletracks take you to the north side of the peninsula and onto the Skåneleden trail through fishing villages and ten nature reserves.

Your drop bag is at Råbocka, at 46 km, which also has hot soup. The organizer calls it a fast race but warns that some sections are technical. Its two 2026 charts disagree on the Råbocka cutoff, and the later ones come too close to the 20 hour limit or after it, so this page leaves them out: check them at the race briefing.

The Seventh Seal starts at 11:00 on Saturday by the sea in Båstad and heads south through Sinarpsdalen, which the organizer calls the "rest and be thankful valley", then climbs the Hallandsåsen ridge, with views south to Skälderviken bay.

At Ängelbäcksstrand you turn west along the coast, on flat ground through pastures and small villages, to the first aid station at Glimminge (18.6 km, cutoff 16:00). The course then follows the coast past Hovs Hallar, whose cliffs the organizer calls the "Death cliff", to the finish in Båstad.

In 2026 the North Shore starts after sunset for the first time, at 17:00 on Saturday, so you need a headlamp. It runs north from Båstad with the sea on your left, on narrow beachside paths and dirt trails through nature reserves and pine forest. The only aid station is at Skummeslöv, at 10.5 km. The organizer lists it as 22 km; its chart gives 21.9.

It's the only race open to 16 and 17 year olds, with a parent's consent.

Registration

Entry is through UTMB. For 2026, runners with a UTMB Index got two days of priority from 18 November 2025, and general entry opened on 20 November. Entries stay open until 10 October or until each race sells out, and there's no waiting list. When this page was checked on 13 October, the 100M, 100K and 50K had sold out, and the registration page still showed the 20K at SEK 1,237.15.

The 50K and longer are for runners born in 2008 or earlier. You can move to a shorter distance until 10 October, but you can't defer to the next year. Withdrawals from the 50K, 100K and 100M got 60 percent back until 27 June and 30 percent until 29 August; the 20K isn't refundable. 100M finishers get a signet ring instead of a medal.

Getting to Höganäs and Båstad

The closest international airport is Copenhagen (CPH), and the closest domestic one is Ängelholm (AGH). Båstad's station has Öresundståg and SJ trains and Skånetrafiken buses; bus 502 runs from the station to Båstad Torget, near the Race Center. Bus 220 runs from Helsingborg's central station to Höganäs.

The Race Center, bib pickup and the expo are in Båstad, next to Hotel Skansen, and you collect your bib in person with photo ID. On Friday the race runs buses from Båstad to the start in Höganäs, at 16:00 for the 100M and 20:00 for the 100K. Buy the ticket in My UTMB when you register: the runner guide asks for at least two weeks' notice, and without a ticket you don't get on. The race briefing at Brukshallen in Höganäs is mandatory for both.

By car, take the E6 to exit 33 and road 112 for Höganäs, or exit 39 and road 115 for Båstad. The guide suggests parking at Stationshuset in Höganäs and at the event parking off Köpmansgatan in Båstad.

Crews, pacers and spectators

Kullamannen is unsupported. You can't take anything from anyone who isn't racing, on the course or at an aid station, and no one may run with you. The only help allowed is small things from the volunteers in yellow vests and basic care at the medical stations in Mölle and Råbocka.

Your support team can still cheer, at the start in Höganäs or the finish in Båstad, which is open from 04:00 Saturday to 02:00 Sunday. The 100M drop bag waits at the Båstad aid station and the 100K bag at Råbocka. Hand it in at the Race Center on Friday, by 15:30 for the 100M or 19:30 for the 100K, and pack it in waterproof bags.

Weather and what to carry

In Helsingborg, just south of Höganäs, October averages a high of 12.6°C and a low of 6.5°C, and November 7.9°C and 3.6°C (SMHI, 2002 to 2022). October is one of the wetter months there, at about 70 mm. On the course the organizer warns of southwesterly gales and long nights.

For the 100M and 100K the mandatory kit includes a waterproof, breathable jacket with a hood and sealed seams, a liter of water, a survival blanket, a whistle, a food reserve (the organizer suggests 800 kcal) and two headlamps with spare power, 200 lumens recommended. The 50K and 20K lists are shorter, with one headlamp; check yours in the runner guide. Aid stations hand out no cups or dishes, so carry a 15 cl cup, and a bowl and cutlery if you want hot food. Your phone stays on, with LiveTrail and roaming for Sweden and Denmark. If you use poles, carry them from the start.

Kullamannen FAQ

When is Kullamannen 2026?

Friday 30 October to the early hours of Sunday 1 November 2026. The 100M starts in Höganäs at 18:00 on Friday and the 100K at 22:00. The 50K starts in Båstad at 11:00 on Saturday and the 20K at 17:00. The last finish is at 02:00 on Sunday.

Is Kullamannen a Western States qualifier?

Yes. Finishing the 2026 100M within 32 hours qualifies you for the 2027 Western States lottery, and the 2027 race is on the list for 2028.

How many Running Stones do you get at Kullamannen?

4 for the 100M, 3 for the 100K, 2 for the 50K and 1 for the 20K.

Can you have a crew or a pacer at Kullamannen?

No. The race is unsupported: no help from anyone outside the race, on the course or at the aid stations, and no pacers. Drop bags are the only exception, at Båstad for the 100M and at Råbocka for the 100K.

How hilly is Kullamannen?

Not very, by trail standards: 2,300 m of climbing over the 100 miler and 749 m over the 100K. The organizer still calls the 100 miler "incredibly demanding" and warns of technical singletrack on Kullaberg and rough November weather on the coast. The race's high point, by its course data, is just over 200 m.

Will my phone work on the Kullamannen course?

You must carry one, with LiveTrail installed, and keep it on. The organizer asks for roaming that works in Sweden and Denmark, since phones near the coast can switch to a Danish network. Download the course map in Goat Maps before the start: your phone's GPS shows where you are without a signal.
