EcoTrail Paris course maps and aid stations

Seven trail races through the forests and château parks west of Paris, four of them finishing at the Eiffel Tower.

March 20 to 21, 2027 Île-de-France, France

EcoTrail Paris runs through the woods and royal estates west of Paris, then into the city along the Seine. The 120 km starts at the Château de Rambouillet, the 80 km on the Colline d'Élancourt, the 45 km in the gardens of Versailles and the 30 km on the terrace of the Paris Observatory in Meudon. The 80 km finishes on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower; the 120, 45 and 30 km finish just below it on the Pont d'Iéna. Those four run on Saturday. On Sunday the 35, 20 and 10 km start in the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud.

The 2027 aid stations and cutoffs aren't out yet, so the stops and cutoffs here are 2026's, and the organizer warns that the course can change before the race. The trails are marked with orange markers, but the organizer says markers sometimes get pulled down and suggests carrying the course on your phone or watch as a backup, so download the map before you go.

You start at the Château de Rambouillet and head into the Rambouillet forest, one of the largest in Île-de-France, then cross the Chevreuse valley past Dampierre and the hilltop Château de la Madeleine. From the Golf National the route turns toward Paris through Buc, Chaville, Meudon and Saint-Cloud, and the last stretch follows the Seine to the Pont d'Iéna. The course page gives 2,000 m of climbing; the 2027 rules say 1,850 m.

In 2026 the first food came at Étangs de Hollande (16.6 km), and the abbey at Vaux-de-Cernay (32.1 km) had water only, so plan on 25 km with nothing to eat until Dampierre. The Golf National (66.3 km) had a hot meal and the drop bag you leave at the start. The time limit runs through the night, so carry the required headlamp, spare batteries and reflective armband. Parts of the course cross nature reserves: keep quiet there and stay in the middle of the trail.

The 80 km has been run since 2008 and finishes on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. It starts on the Colline d'Élancourt, the highest point in Île-de-France, and heads east through the woods to Buc (25 km), Chaville and Meudon. From Saint-Cloud (72.4 km) it follows the Seine into Paris. The course page gives 1,200 m of climbing; the 2027 rules say 1,300 m.

St-Philippe (47.7 km) was a water point in 2026, open only to the supporters of elite runners. The start goes off in waves: in 2026, 250 runners every two and a half minutes. If you want a shot at the podium, you have to start in the first wave. The 80 km carries the FFA's silver trail label, and FFA licence holders get €8 off entry.

The 45 km starts in the gardens of the Château de Versailles and finishes on the Pont d'Iéna. The organizer pitches it at runners who have finished the 30 km and want the next step, and at marathoners moving to trail. In 2026 there were only two aid stations: Chaville at 20.6 km and Saint-Cloud at 38.2 km, so carry the full liter of water the rules ask for.

The organizer calls the 35 km more technical and demanding than the 30 km, with rolling trails and forest sections. It starts in the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud on Sunday and finishes at the Paris Observatory in Meudon, with a view over the city. In 2026 the one aid station was Chaville, at 20.6 km, with a cutoff of 2 h 45 min. The 2027 rules put the climbing at 850 m, a little more than the course page's 830 m.

The 30 km starts on the terrace of the Paris Observatory in Meudon and finishes on the Pont d'Iéna. The organizer says it's the distance most asked for, and aims it at 20 km finishers and half marathoners. In 2026 there was water at Fausses Reposes (11.3 km) and a full aid station at Saint-Cloud (20.6 km), with a 3 h 30 min cutoff there. Climbing is 500 m on the course page and 400 m in the 2027 rules.

The 20 km (it used to be 18 km) runs from the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud to the Paris Observatory terrace in Meudon on Sunday morning. The organizer says it's open to everyone, with a few good climbs, and 90% of it is off pavement. The 2026 aid station was at Chaville, 13.8 km in.

The 10 km starts and finishes in the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, with a two hour limit. There's no aid on the course, so bring what you'll drink, and a cup for the finish. It's open to anyone born before the end of 2011.

Registration and fees

Entry is online only, through the organizer's site. When this page was checked in October 2026, the 80, 45 and 30 km were full for 2027, and the 120, 35, 20 and 10 km were still open. Full races have a waitlist and an official resale, the only way to get a bib second hand. If your race is full, you can put your bib up for resale until March 7, 2027 and get 75% back. Registration closes on March 15, 2027 at the latest.

Prices rise in three tiers: €170 to €205 for the 120 km, €115 to €145 for the 80 km, €82 to €100 for the 45 km, €67 to €80 for the 35 km, €62 to €74 for the 30 km, €47 to €58 for the 20 km and €34 to €42 for the 10 km. A platform fee comes on top, and the price includes €11 of membership in Les Trailers de Paris for the weekend.

You need a 2026-2027 FFA Compétition, Loisir Running or Entreprise licence, or else the federation's paid PPS health pass, and its number has to be in your registration by March 15. Other FFA licences need a PPS as well. The organizer strongly recommends you've already finished an 80 km trail before the 120 km, a 45 km before the 80 km, and a 30 km before the 45 or 35 km.

Bibs, trains and the start

Bib pickup is at the Centre sportif Émile Anthoine in Paris's 15th arrondissement, near the Eiffel Tower, on Thursday March 18 or Friday March 19, from 11 AM to 8:30 PM. In 2026 there was no pickup on race days. RER C to Champ de Mars, Tour Eiffel, or Métro 6 to Bir-Hakeim, gets you there.

The organizer wants you on public transport, and you can add a transport option when you register. For the 120 km, take Transilien line N to Rambouillet. For the 80 km, take the RER C to Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, then a free shuttle to the start; for the 45 km, the RER C to Saint-Cyr and its shuttle. For the 30 km, take line N to Bellevue. For the Saint-Cloud races, take Tram T2 to Musée de Sèvres or Métro 9 to Pont de Sèvres. There are no dedicated trains, so check the timetables in the roadbook.

You can leave a bag of up to 20 liters at the start, and it's taken to your finish. Runners of the 120, 80, 45 and 30 km can shower at Émile Anthoine afterward.

Supporters and live tracking

There are no pacers. Only registered runners may run with you, and help from anyone outside the aid stations can get you disqualified. Friends and family can meet you at the aid stations marked for supporters, as long as they stay out of the runners' area. In 2026 the water point at Vaux-de-Cernay was closed to them and St-Philippe was open only to elite runners' supporters. Marcel Bec closed to supporters at 10:30 PM. Visitors pay to enter the Dampierre estate, and getting up to the 80 km finish on the Eiffel Tower takes a ticket like any other visitor's.

In 2026 there was a fan zone at the top of the Colline d'Élancourt for the 80 km start, and another on the riverbank upstream of the Pont d'Iéna for the 30 and 45 km finish. Everyone else can follow along on the organizer's site or the LiveTrail app, which show each runner's times at the timing points.

March weather and kit

Paris in March averages highs of 12.8 °C (55 °F) and lows of 5.6 °C (42 °F), and 45 mm of rain over 9.5 days (Montsouris normals, 1991 to 2020). The organizer warns that conditions can be hard, and in bad weather the start can be delayed up to two hours or cancelled.

The required kit depends on the race. Everyone needs a cup of at least 15 cl, since the aid stations hand out none, plus a phone, ID and a card or €20 cash. The 2027 rules have you carry 1.5 liters of water on the 120 and 80 km, 1 liter on the 45, 35 and 30 km, and half a liter on the 20 km. The 120 and 80 km also need a headlamp with spare batteries and a reflective armband. The 120 to 30 km need food, and every race but the 10 km needs a survival blanket. Missing kit costs time penalties. A waterproof jacket is strongly recommended, and poles get you disqualified.

EcoTrail Paris FAQ

When is EcoTrail Paris 2027?

Saturday March 20 and Sunday March 21, 2027. The 120, 80, 45 and 30 km run on Saturday, and the 35, 20 and 10 km on Sunday. The first start is the 30 km, at 8:30 AM on Saturday.

Does the 80 km really finish on the Eiffel Tower?

Yes, on the first floor. It's the only course that does. The 120, 45 and 30 km finish just below, on the Pont d'Iéna. Your supporters need a visitor's ticket to come up.

Are the 80 km, 45 km and 30 km sold out?

For 2027, yes, as of October 2026. Join the waitlist on the organizer's site, or wait for the official resale, which runs until March 7, 2027. Buying a bib any other way is banned. The 120, 35, 20 and 10 km were still open.

Can I use poles at EcoTrail Paris?

No. Poles are banned on every race, and using them gets you disqualified.

Does EcoTrail Paris give ITRA points or UTMB Index?

Yes. The 2027 race pages give the 120 km 4 ITRA points and a 100K UTMB Index category, the 80 km 3 points and 50K, the 45 km 2 points and 50K, and the 35, 30 and 20 km 1 point and 20K each. The 10 km has neither. In 2026 the 120 and 80 km were also part of ITRA's National League.

Is there an autumn EcoTrail Paris?

Yes. A new autumn edition takes place on October 17, 2026, with an 80 km from Saint-Germain-en-Laye to the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, a 50 km and a 20 km. This page covers the spring races.
