Boréalys Mont-Tremblant course maps and aid stations

Six races out of Village Tremblant, from a 5.8 km run on the mountain's lower slopes to the 81 km Odyssée over Pic White and Edge.

2027 dates not announced yet, usually in August Mont-Tremblant, Quebec

Boréalys is the UTMB World Series race at Mont-Tremblant, in Quebec's Laurentians, run by Événements Harricana, the team behind the Ultra-Trail Harricana. The first edition was in August 2026. When they announced it, the organizers called it the only World Series event east of the Canadian Rockies.

Every race starts and finishes in Village Tremblant, the resort's pedestrian village at the foot of Mont Tremblant. The courses use trails run by Tremblant, the Domaine Saint-Bernard and the City of Mont-Tremblant. The 2027 dates aren't out yet, so the maps and aid stations here are the 2026 courses.

The 100K goes over Edge twice and comes through Base Nord twice, and most of the shorter races cross the same summit at Pic White. The organizer recommends a GPS watch with the GPX loaded. Take the map on your phone as well: GPS shows where you are on it without a signal.

This is an unofficial guide: Goat Maps isn't affiliated with Boréalys Mont-Tremblant by UTMB. Check the official site before you enter or race.

The 100K leaves the village at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday and heads south, away from the mountain, to a drinks stop at Lac Gauthier and food at the Domaine Saint-Bernard. From Saint-Bernard it's 15.4 km, the longest gap on the course, up to Pic White at 867 m, where the first cutoff is 1:00 p.m. From there you drop to Base Nord at 44 km, where your crew and your drop bag wait.

The second half is a loop out of Base Nord over Edge to Nansen and back over Edge, then the last 10.4 km from Base Nord to the village. The race page gives 81 km and 3,600 m; the regulations say about 79 km and 3,636 m. The organizer's projections have the slowest runners finishing well after sunset, and a headlamp is on the 100K's mandatory kit list. In 2026, 475 runners finished.

The relay runs the 100K's course, starting at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, half an hour after the 100K. Teams of 2 to 6 split six legs of 16.8, 15.0, 9.8, 17.1, 8.7 and 11.2 km and hand over a baton at Saint-Bernard, Pic White, Base Nord, Nansen and Base Nord again. There are no shuttles between the exchanges: teammates get there on their own.

Entry is CAD 575 per team plus the 8% admin fee, and each team raises at least $500 for the Quebec Epilepsy Association or the Fondation Tremblant. It's non-competitive: no UTMB Index and no Running Stones.

Registration

For 2026, entry opened on September 16, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern for runners with a UTMB Index, and 48 hours later for everyone else. There was no lottery and no waitlist, and registration ran until July 24, 2026 unless a race sold out first.

The 2026 fees, taxes included, were CAD 269 to 309 for the 100K, 179 to 209 for the 50K, 85 to 102 for the Chutes-Croches and 45 to 69 for the P'tite 5K, plus an 8% admin fee. You must be 18 for the 100K and 50K, 16 for the two 20Ks and the relay, and 13 for the 5K. You also need insurance that covers rescue, repatriation and medical costs in Canada. If you live in Canada, your provincial health insurance already counts.

You can move to a shorter distance up to four weeks before the race, but you can't defer to a later year.

Getting there

Montreal is about 1.5 to 2 hours away by car: Autoroute 15 north, which becomes Route 117 after Sainte-Agathe, then exit 119 at Montée Ryan and follow the signs for the resort. From Ottawa it's about 2 hours, from Toronto 5 to 6.

Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) is the airport to fly into. Tremblant runs coach transfers from it with Orléans Express and Keolis, and Galland buses run from downtown Montreal to Mont-Tremblant every day. Once you're in town, the city's buses are free.

Bib pickup is at the Chalet des Voyageurs from 11:00 a.m. on Friday, and on Saturday for the Sunday races. The 100K, 50K and relay briefing is on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the village. RVs and trailers can park overnight in section C of lot P4, first come, first served.

Crews, drop bags and spectators

Only 100K runners can have a crew, and only at Base Nord, on both passes. Your crew is one person, who needs an Assistance ticket and works from the single 30-liter bag the organizer hands out at check-in. They can give you food, drinks and gear, but only the race's medical team can treat you. Pacers aren't allowed in any race.

Drop bags are also for the 100K only: you leave the bag at the start and see it at Base Nord, both times. Poles can't go in it, and if you use poles you carry them from the start.

Friends who just want to watch can drive to the Domaine Saint-Bernard (the park charges an entry fee) or to Base Nord (free), or reach Pic White on foot or by the paid panoramic gondola.

Weather and kit

August in Saint-Jovite, just down the road, averages a high of 24.5°C and a low of 9.8°C (1991 to 2020 normals). The organizer warns it can be hot and humid, above 30°C, and cool quickly at night. Sunset is around 8:06 p.m.

The hot-weather kit raises the 100K and 50K water requirement from 1 to 2 liters and adds sunscreen, SPF 50 recommended. In the 20K, 50K and 100K races you carry a phone with a plan that works in Canada and the LiveTrail app, switched on and out of airplane mode. A headlamp is required only for the 100K. Gear is checked at bib pickup and may be checked again anywhere on the course.

Boréalys FAQ

When is Boréalys Mont-Tremblant 2027?

The 2027 dates haven't been announced. The first edition ran August 14 to 16, 2026, with the 100K on Saturday and the 50K on Sunday. The maps on this page are the 2026 courses.

How many Running Stones do you get at Boréalys?

Three for finishing the Odyssée 100K, two for the Tremblante 50K and one each for the Diable 20K and Chutes-Croches 20K. The P'tite 5K and the relay give none.

Can you have a pacer at Boréalys?

No. Pacers aren't allowed in any of the races.

Where can crews meet 100K runners?

Only at Base Nord, which the 100K passes at 44 km and 70.6 km. Your crew needs the Assistance ticket and the official 30-liter bag. It's free to drive to.

How technical are the Boréalys trails?

The organizer describes rocks, roots, steep climbs and dense boreal forest, typical of the Laurentians, in August heat. Even the Diable climbs 1,645 m in 26.6 km.

Do I need insurance to run Boréalys?

Yes. Every runner needs cover for rescue, repatriation and medical costs in Canada, which the entry fee doesn't include. If you live in Canada, your provincial health insurance meets the requirement.
